Happy Independence Day Everyone

Today is the 4th of July and that means we are celebrating Independence Day all across the country.  This is a day filled with fireworks shows, picnics, family and friend gatherings, cookouts, and even some street football for some added fun.
How are you celebrating the 4th of July?  I hope that you have an awesome day and let it be filled with happiness, joy, fun, and good food.  There are a lot of barbeque grills fired up in my neighborhood and the aroma is coming into my house.  We are not firing up the grill, but instead, I’m making some oven fried boneless skinless chicken thighs with a rice, cheese and broccoli casserole and a banana pudding.  I believe that is a good selection for our family of four.
Later on, all we have to do is step outside on our patio and watch the fireworks shows that are organized.  It’s so nice living in a rural area where the neighboring cities organize these huge fireworks shows and it’s literally in your backyard.  What a fun time we had today!!  Thankfully, we still have another day off until it’s back to the normal Monday routine.
It was also fun watching some of the neighbors play a game of street football.  Watching the adults play against the kids and teenagers was so entertaining because you could tell that some of the adults were fatigued while the kids/teenagers were in full force.  What a great day to just enjoy life and enjoy the freedoms that we have here in our country.  Hope your 4th of July was a great one!
