May 7th is recognized at the National Day of Prayer. On today, prayer is really needed for early this morning I received tragic news of a very young local church musician, former classmate, and friend passed away around 3:15 am. When I received the message, I was in complete disbelief because just yesterday he was posting inspirational quotes and music on his Facebook page and less than 24 hours later, he is no longer with us. God knows what’s best and does not make any mistakes which is why we can find peace in the midst of our sorrow. Brandon had been suffering with some health issues for the past few years and God decided to call him home. No more suffering and no more pain.
I am amazed at the number of posts and messages that people are leaving and how many lives that Brandon touched in his short 30+ years here on this Earth. This young man was so talented and could make a Hammond B-3 organ sing and talk back to you. Brandon made Gospel music at church what it was truly meant to be, inspirational, spirit-filled, and great to listen to. He was always willing to help new musicians and seasoned musicians as well whenever they needed help with song arrangements or mastering complex chords. What a talented young man who is now resting eternally with the Father above. We who are believers can have that peace of mind that no one may understand in this time of bereavement because we know that we will see Brandon again on the other side. Rest well Brandon. This has really put life into a new perspective for me. I really realize that you can be here one second and be gone the next. On this National Day of Prayer, please say a prayer for the Brandon Harris family in Dallas, TX.
