Today is a day that I will never forget. I am so blessed to be alive to witness a true example of what true love is and what it looks like. I'm blessed to see an example of a husband taking care of his wife during her time of sickness and the whole time, their love and passion for each other continues to grow. The two people I am talking about are my parents. On today, May 16, 2015, they celebrate 56 years of marriage. I have never seen this type of love before in my life and I'm so grateful that God blessed me to have parents who are so in love after 56 years and who still to this day, have a glow in their eyes when they look at each other.
Today we had a small family gathering for my niece's graduation and my parent's wedding anniversary. They looked so cute together sitting on the loveseat together and just smiling at each other. It's amazing to see my father who is 80 years young and my mother who is 76 years young still have that true love in their hearts for each other just like it was their first time. My father always tells us that it was love at first sight when he met my mother in 1958. After six months of courting through the phone, letters, and visits because they lived in different cities, they wed on May 16, 1959. This is truly a union that God put together. Happy 56th Anniversary to my father and mother. Thank you for being such a great example for me and for countless others. What a great day!!
