Today proved to be a quite interesting day. When you walk into a department store, you never know what or who you will encounter. My normal Saturday routine is to go to Wal-Mart or Target early in the morning to avoid the weekend crowds. I have a certain place that I park and it is normally available because there are not many people at the store at the hour that I go to the store. Well, today was a little bit different. As I pulled into Wal-Mart’s parking lot, I saw that my normal parking space was available and there was a red Honda Civic parked next to the empty spot I was about to drive into. As I parked, I noticed a young lady in the driver’s seat of the Honda Civic and she looked extremely troubled and was crying. Something just told me that something was definitely not right with this young lady. As I got out of my car, she looked up at me and I motioned for her to roll down the window. She proceeded to roll her window down and I just asked her if there was something she needed help with. Through the tears, she told me that she just received word that her mother had passed away and she could not move. I offered my condolences and asked her if she needed anything. She asked me if I believed in God and I told her “yes.” She asked me to pray for her because she did not feel like living life without her mother in her life. I don’t know what emotions I was feeling at this point. I proceeded to ask her if she wouldn’t mind stepping out of the car so that we could have a word of prayer together. She proceeds to get out of the car and she is literally trembling and shaking and crying uncontrollably. She stood up against her car and I proceeded to start praying for this young lady. She looked like she was in her early 20s. After we finished the prayer, she thanked me and said that she felt a little better. She then proceeded to get back into her car as I went into the store and did my shopping. When I came out of the store, I noticed a piece of paper on my windshield. The young lady had written me a thank you note and said that she was no longer thinking about ending her life. Oh my goodness, I completely lost it then. You never know how close a person is to their breaking point and to lose a mother is extremely hard to deal with for anyone.
I would like to ask everyone to please pray for J’Neasha and her family as they deal with the loss of their dear loved one.
Today made me realize that you may think that you are going to go about your daily routine and just return home, but you never know what God has in store and how He wants to use you.
