Holding the Ones You Love Closer to You

It’s hard to believe that Thanksgiving is exactly one week away from today.  Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday because it is really a wonderful time for all of the family to get together and to enjoy each other’s company and some great food, beverages, and some great NFL action.  This is a very meaningful time to spend with the people that you love and care about.  With so much going on throughout the world especially with the recent tragic events that unfolded in Paris, it makes this year’s Thanksgiving holiday so much more important.  I cannot imagine the grief that the victims’ families are facing at this time and with the holidays coming up, this will be an even more difficult time to come to terms with their loved one being gone.  This makes it even more important for all of us to hold the people that we love closer to our hearts and to let everyone we care about know that we do indeed love and care about them.  Life is too short and the enemy is trying to attack in just about any way possible.  This is where we must stand on our faith and continue to pray without ceasing.

The holidays are also a time that may not be such a joyous occasion.  There are so many individuals who experience depression during the holiday season while other individuals have family relationships that are tarnished and do not make for a festive time together.  If you or you know anyone who is experiencing either of these life circumstances, please reach out to someone who can help if depression exists and if there are any families with tarnished relationships, make amends as soon as possible.  Even if the other party is not receptive and will not make amends, you have done your part and you can be proud of yourself for taking the higher road.  Here’s to a wonderful and prosperous day.
