Yesterday proved to be quite an eventful day. We celebrated by father’s 81st birthday, I received a new assignment at work, and my refrigerator and freezer decided to stop working late last night. In the midst of this happening, I did not allow this situation take over my joyous mood. I refused to allow this situation to control me. I took control of the situation. I’ve learned not to worry or stress out about situations that I have completely no control over. Why would I waste my time and energy stressing over something that was not going to change until the technician diagnosed the problem and proceeded with the necessary repairs. Thankfully, I have a warranty program that I only have to pay a low co-pay.
It has taken me some time to get to this point in my life. When something like this would occur in the past, I would worry myself to the verge of having a horrible headache, stomach problems, and lost sleep. While doing all of this worrying, the situation was still there and I could not control it, yet I was causing my health to be impacted negatively instead. I have learned a valuable lesson. Whatever situations I am in that I cannot control, I simply don’t worry about them and just keep my sanity and my upbeat spirit. There’s so much in life to focus on and worrying about things does not make the issue any better. So on today, I bring a message of being refreshed and not allowing situations to control you. You can control your reaction and response to any given situation you may face. Have a wonderful day!
