Data Breaches Continue to Be on the Increase. This is a Sad Reality.

No matter where you turn, either on social media, on the news, in the newspaper, or on the radio, the two words that make you literally cringe with fear are data breach.  Unfortunately, the amount of data breaches being experienced by huge corporations, retail stores, and even the government seem to continue to increase as time passes by.

Take a look at this chart from the Identity Theft Resource Center.  It shows just how massive the number of data breaches in 2014.  Look at the startling number of banks and banking institutions that experienced data breaches and the number of personal data that was exposed because of the breach.

This is a real problem and there is no end in sight.  What would you do if you saw the name of your bank or banking institution on the news and it was reported that the data of their customers was compromised?   You would probably panic and be in disbelief that this has happened.  Who would you call?  This is a real problem that exists.  No one expects for their confidential data to be compromised especially at a bank that is supposed to have some of the most advanced protections in place for their various computer systems.  Many of us would not imagine that our personal information would be involved in a breach.  Hackers have become more advanced and the number of breaches is expected to continue to increase.
