How a Child Can Move Millions of Adults into Taking Action

Woke up this beautiful Monday morning just thankful for seeing another day.  Today is a beautiful day filled with sunshine and signs of hope and complete with joy.  No matter what you may be facing today, use today as a time to give thanks in spite of what you may be going through and to let our Father in Heaven fight your battles for you.  Remember, the battle is not yours, it’s the Lord’s.
I am just feeling motivated today.  After receiving news early Sunday morning that a little 6 year old girl in Houston, Texas passed away after her 3rd battle with a very rare form of kidney cancer, I really called out to God and asked Him to give me direction because this little girl touched hundreds of thousands of lives in her short time here.  Even though she was in pain, she still smiled.  Even though she spent the majority of her life in the hospital, she still smiled.
This little girl’s story has really touched my life.  Each day, there would be a daily update posted on her Facebook page and we knew at noon to 2 pm, it was national pray for Kyssi time.
This got me thinking really hard and asking myself if I was doing enough in my life to make an impact in a positive way for others.  I just sat in church yesterday thinking about this and there was an announcement in the bulletin that states that volunteers were needed to go to the nursing home nearby one Saturday a month to visit the residents.  After service, I found the coordinator of the program and told her that I was interested.  I also told her that I used to do this with another church I attended a long time ago and we would go and sing songs for the residents and I would play the piano.  The program coordinator looked at me and said that we needed someone to do this exact thing because currently, they were only going to visit and help the residents during their free time and they had always wanted to add music to the program.  Well, because of little Kyssi, I took another step and now I’m going to be helping to develop a complete music program to go along with the nursing home visitation program already in place.

I feel so content with this and I know that Kyssi must have been my little Angel.  R.I.P. Kyssi.
