Today started with torrential rain and thunderstorms resulting in flash flooding in numerous locations. There were hundreds of cars swept away and stalled in the high water and had to be rescued. Even one of the local police officers got stranded while rescuing a young lady who was stranded and got on top of her car. Thankfully, the young lady and the police officer were both rescued and are safe. It was just a scary sight this morning for I have never seen anything like this in my life before especially when I was on my way to take the boys to school and I looked over at one of the golf courses and it was a river flowing. I could not believe what I was seeing because the water was so high and it was raging. Had it been another foot high, it would have completely flooded the road I was traveling on. I’m so thankful that I made it safely with the boys to school and I made it safely to work without any problems.
Unfortunately, more storms are expected later tonight when a cold front passes through which could bring more inches of rain and flooding once again overnight. This is definitely something that we are not accustomed to all of this rain and reports state that this is the most rain we’ve ever received in May. All we can do is put our trust in God for He knows what He is doing. We prayed for rain due to the drought we had for multiple years and now people are telling us to pray that it stops. God knows and God cares. For everyone who is traveling to our area from all over for a special conference that is taking place, I pray for safe travels to and from Dallas. I know a lot of people had their flights delayed due to the weather, but I’m starting to receive messages that they finally made it. Take care and have a wonderful Friday.
