It is always an interesting time of year when the NFL Draft takes place. When you look into the eyes of the players sit in anticipation of their phone ringing and a team’s upper management is on the other end of the line stating that they have been selected to be a part of their NFL team. Can you imagine the butterflies going through these young men’s stomachs and how completely in knots they are? The NFL Draft is always a great time to observe the behaviors of new players, teams, management, family and friends, and the fans. The first few rounds of the draft proved to be very interesting and set many historical foundations where two quarterbacks went at the 1st and 2nd picks. It’s always fun to see the reactions and interviews with the newly selected NFL team members because it gives insight into their journey to becoming a professional athlete.
As I watch the NFL Draft, I cannot help but to associate it with being an entrepreneur. Entrepreneurs are working hard each and every day in order to score a touchdown, which would be achieving financial freedom and independence. Just like the players being drafted, they have worked hard for many years and now their dreams are becoming a reality. The same is true with entrepreneurs. We work hard on a daily basis and one day our dreams of being “drafted” into the financially free and independent individuals will become a reality. We have to keep pushing forward and there is no room to quit. Here’s to a wonderful day.
