Today is designated to celebrate all Mothers around the country. I would like to take this opportunity to wish all the Mothers whether biological, play, step, or mother figure, a very Happy Mother's Day today. My family is a little different because we don't wait until designated days to celebrate. We show love and honor our mother 365 or 366 days(leap year) per year. It is very nice to have a day set aside to honor and show some extra love to mothers, but we should not let this day come and go and then forget about mom after the flowers have withered and the food is all eaten up. Mothers sacrifice so much for their children and families and in many cases, are playing a dual role of both mother and father. There's just something special about mothers and there is no one who can comfort or talk to you or tell you that they love you like a mother can.
One thing that my siblings and I do during the year is spontaneously visit my mother and bring her a gift. Since she did not expect the visit and especially the gift, it just makes that element of surprise and love even stronger. My mother always says that she loves receiving gifts when she least expects them and just makes the bond between all of us stronger.
Give it a try. Surprise you mother with a bouquet of roses on May 31st or June 2nd, just any day that is not a holiday or her birthday. It will bring a completely different element to your your relationship and your love towards her will be even stronger.
