Taking some much needed time off away from the corporate world this week has been a true blessing. I am so grateful to have four weeks of vacation that I can use plus some floating holidays that my company offers to employees. The past two days have been so wonderful and I am having such a good time with my twins. These two little boys are just a true joy and a handful at the same time. They are four years old and into everything. They are complete opposites and it makes for an interesting time at home and when we go out. We've visited my parents' house and we all had a great time together. Just some truly high quality family time that no price can be placed upon it. My father is 80 and my mother is 76 and I'm thanking God each day that they are able to be here to see their grandchildren and to have a chance to play with them and to just love on them like all grandparents do. It was a great visit and of course, my parents did not want us to leave.
Today was filled with going shopping and playing outside. It was so funny when we got to Kroger that one of the associates who works there used to be an employee at the very first daycare that the twins went to from 6 weeks old to 6 months old. When I saw her and took the boys over to her, I told her that here were the babies that she cared for as babies and they are now 4 years old. She just broke down into tears because the twins were her special babies and she had not seen them since they were 6 months old. It was beautiful and some of the customers in line were tearing up too and wanted to hear more about the history of her taking care of them as babies and now seeing them for the first time in 3 1/2 years. What a blessing!!! I'm so glad that the twins gave her a hug and a big smile. She took really good care of them and it is so nice to know that I know where to find her now. We exchanged phone numbers so we can keep in touch. It was strange because it seemed like the boys remembered her. The way they embraced her and they hadn't seen her in so many years. You never know what a baby remembers or a child senses. Just a truly wonderful day!! Only Thursday and Friday left and then back to the 9 to 5 on next Monday! Have a great day and take some time to spend with your family today!!
