Today is National Sibling Day

Today has been designated as National Sibling Day.  It is so important to keep your family close and to always be there for each other.  You only get one family and now that I am an adult, I realize just how important family really is in daily life.  God blessed me with one brother and one sister.  I'm the baby of the family so I am of course the spoiled brat even to this day at 40 years of age.  It's amazing how time changes your thoughts and views on certain aspects of life.  Now that we are all adults, we now realize that we are all "real people" and not just someone to pick on or call names or to play with as we did when we were kids.  It's so much fun to get together now and to have serious and fun talks all at the same time.  I'm so happy that God chose the family that I have for me to be a part of and to be blessed to have such a good and open relationship with my siblings.

Unfortunately, this is not the case for many people.  They have not spoken to their siblings in years and just don't have a great relationship.  I pray that if anyone reading this who does not have a good relationship with their siblings, take the first step in making amends.  Even if the action is not returned, at least you tried and you never know that this could be the opening that is needed to get the conversation started to try to rekindle that sibling relationship.  Be blessed and have a great day!
