It’s a Day of Celebration and Reflection

Five years ago today started off like any other day but quickly turned into one of the best days of my entire life.  April 28, 2010 was the day that a miracle was performed in my life by the grace of God.  On this day, I was going for my routine weekly doctor’s visit for a sonogram to check on the babies. Everything with the babies was good, but my blood pressure was extremely elevated.  After about 20 minutes of observation, I was sent to the triage at the hospital for further observation to see what was going on with my blood pressure and to keep a watch on my unborn twins.  This was about 11:00 am.  By 1:00 pm, the decision was made to go ahead and do a C-Section at 35 weeks because my blood pressure was not getting any better.  I was totally not ready for I came to the doctor’s office with no bags or nothing and I was all by myself because I was just there for a routine doctor’s visit.
I was of course shocked that I was going to meet the two little boys that had been growing inside of me for the past 35 weeks.  My doctors wanted so much for me to try to make it to at least 37 weeks, but God was ready for these two little boys to enter the world.
After spending each day on bed rest from week 19 to week 25, at 9:35 pm, Christopher made his appearance.  At 9:38 pm, Calvin made his appearance.  I cannot tell you the joy that I felt when I heard those two little angels crying.  I can always remember the first time I saw them .

It is hard to believe that on today, my little boys turn 5 years old.  The time really does go by quickly.  I am truly blessed to have such wonderful and unique little boys.  On this day, I give thanks and reflect on my many blessings.  Here’s to an awesome day.
