For the millions of individuals who work Monday through Friday, the word Saturday carries so much meaning because that means that we finally get a break from work and have a day to do what we want to do, in most cases. As we enjoy this Saturday, what are your plans? What does Saturday mean to you?
Growing up in my family home, Saturdays always meant a day where the entire family would gather together and take a weekly trip to the local mall where we walked around, bought new stuff, and ate some awesome food. It was just a time where we could spend quality family time with just the five of us: my parents, my brother, my sister, and me. As we got older, Saturdays began to have a little different definition than before. It was a time where my siblings wanted to spend time with their friends, my parents would go grocery shopping together for the household, and I would spend hours playing video games.
Now that I am all grown up with a family of my own, Saturdays have a new meaning. I take my two sons to McDonald’s each Saturday for the weekly treat and to play in the playplace that is in the restaurant. They actually know when Saturday is here and they don’t have to go to school because at a certain time during the day, they will look outside the window, look at me, go get my purse and their shoes and give them to me because they know it’s time for their treat.
What does Saturday mean for you? A day to sleep in? A day to do absolutely nothing or just the opposite? Whatever Saturday means to you, make sure that you enjoy every single minute because with each tick of the clock, another has just vanished that will never return again. Have an awesome day!!
